Nit Grit's "This Old Heart"
Yesterday (Thursday) on Facebook, Nit Grit had posted an opportunity for music blogs to feature his new song, "This Old Heart." I've been following Nit Grit for some time now on his soundcloud, and have all of his tracks on my portable music player, I would go as far to say he is my favorite dubstep artist.
His new song "This Old Heart" is a classic representation of Nit Grit's genius. He is able to create a solid beat and add a creative twist to it. There is a sense of repetition throughout the song, but he was able to go about every beat and add something different. Making the listening unpredictable and enjoyable at the same time. It is the kind of song, like most he has produced that one could listen to over and over. Without any further wait may I present you:
Nit Grit - This Old Heart (GottaGetIt!)
For those interested here is his facebook page, and here is his brief reflection on his new release:
This song isn't a dance floor banger but a track you would probably listen to on some headphones. It has traces of Experimental, IDM beats with the heaviness of dubstep/drum and bass. I hope you all get lost into it :) My friend Kiro wrote this nice review of the track below if you don't want to do a write up. I don't mind either way : )
"NiT GriT is known for monster synths and catchy melodies that stick in your head on the way home; This time, he's created a menacing sonic gremlin that punches you in the jaw, but then fetches you some steak to put on the bruise. A slightly more restrained vibe than usual, NiT GriT is hitting multiple targets and shows no sign of slowing down.
