The "S" - Interview & Exclusive Mixtape!

I have a HUGE post for all of you tonight, probably the biggest ever... For the first time in the history of Electrolightsmusic.com we have an exclusive mixtape made just for us! We also have an epic interview lined up for you all as well! The mixtape + interview is from none other than Electrolights favorite...THE "S".

I'll give you a brief overview of them before you divulge yourself in pure musical gold...

Bizzo and Alvin are two producers from Italy.

After meeting in 2009, they decided to bring together their musical backgrounds and 'The S' was subsequently born; they became instantly recognisable for their melodic yet fierce style.

Unsurprisingly, the duo love creating epic melodies and mixing them with the aggressive sounds of the modern electronic underground, both for the production of their tracks and for personalising their DJ set. After just a year they've managed to share the stage with big names such as Deadmau5, Boiznoize, Crookers, Cyberpunkers, Gtronic...

Currently they're dividing their time between producing and spreading their sound throughout the clubs of europe.

Now, here's where it gets good... (Interview & Mixtape after the jump!)

So first off, how did you two meet?

We met at a party and spent the whole night drinking and talking about music;
we realised straight away that we had the same musical  aspirations.

Where are you based out of right now?

At the moment we live and make our music in our hometown of Bergamo, a city
about half an hour away from Milan in the north of Italy

What were your first influences for creating music?

It might seem predictable but the first electronic artists to really have an
influence on us were Danger, The Bloody Beetroots, The Toxic Avenger and Benny
Benassi.

Who do you guys look up to as artists?

Our aim is to spread melody throughout the world and make people understand
just how much of a part it can play in people's lives and how it can influence
or express our emotions in the same way that a vocabulary can, like a universal
code that is understood regardless of nationality, race.

Are you guys surprised with how much support you get from overseas and around
the world?

We're always surprised and flattered to receive support, however much. It's
always a surprise to see how one's music can provoke emotions in people that
are so different and far away from us.

If you could play any festival in the world, which one would it be?

Obviously Coachella.

What is your greatest memory out of any show you have played?

One of the best memories we have is our first booking on a main stage when
Deadmau5 handed the console over to us. We were very excited and he was
extremely friendly with us. Definitely a good memory.

If you weren't producing music what do you think you guys would be doing?

Alvin- I would have been a graphic designer or a web designer
Bizzo - I would have probably been a wandering drunkard

What is your worst (or best) "OH SHIT" moment you've had when making music?

We don't remember which track it was but we had been working on it all night
and at 6am, on the point of bouncing the project, Logic decided to crash. Shit.
Never gonna see that one again.

Your new EP "Takedown" was released back in February. You had some pretty heavy
remixers on it! Not to mention that your orignal track was some of the best
electro out right now. Did the whole thing turn out like you had expected?

Firstly, thanks for defining us as "some of the best electro out right now" !
Anyway we really weren't expecting adidas to have chosen our original version
of takedown as the soundtrack for their new Facebook app ad campaign in France.
Especially when you think that they got Justice (who are French!) to do their
international one! It's a big honour for us.

3 tunes you can't stop listening to right now?

Belzebass - Rise of Brutality
Power Francers - Bonita (Pelussje brotheRMX)
You Killng Me - Alleluja

Any secrets about future projects that you want to tell the fans?

Well it's not really a secret any more that Death+Rainbows is coming out on the
4th of June on Tuffemup - there's already a preview available:

We can probably let you in on the fact that the new Ep is already in progress.
Can't really say more than that at the moment :)

What are your guys major plans for 2011? Another EP? Maybe an overseas tour?
(Fingers Crossed)

Very probably we'll finish 2011 with a Death and Rainbows EP tour in Australia
(we can't wait) and maybe a couple other dates but they're top secret for now!

Well, thanks for taking the time to let everyone know whats up! Cheers guys!

Thanks guys always a pleasure to answer questions hope to see you all soon!
